I think it is interesting that Google served contextual ads for hair coloring and salons over the video. I'd post an image here if I could.

Ajay,

Good question. Most of the "social media marketing" types who also subscribe to the inbound marketing philosphy see the two as interconnected.

Thanks for the heads up about SEMPO. I have to check it out.

Frank,

I wonder if you should also consider Search engine optimization and advertising in social media. If so, SEMPO institute is a good one for folks to check out. I am its member and taking the 'Insider guide to search marketing' course.

The one that I have been hearing about a lot is companies banning gmail.

The difference between now and 1995 when Hotmail was banned is that everyone who is anyone carries a smart phone where they can access their favorite forms of communication and social media. Fortunately, there is no practical way to ban "personal" cell phones in a corporate environment.

So here's a big F - U to "the man"

Hi Tangy,

I initially thought of blogging for work, but that seemed boring and besides - I have to do it as part of my day job anyway. So I thought I would post to your blog itself. I am happy to see you here at Novell - I think you bring a good balance of creativity, pragmatism and knowledge on social media and all things marketing... Here is to making Novell a bigger name in 2010!

30. Hold a BBQ tweetup about it. Social media experts find free food irresistible. They will come from near and far, devour all you offer, and then blog about your product.
